(ages 13-15)

The Overcomers Sunday school class' purpose is to prepare its members for the challenges the world presents to believers of all ages. As a class, we have discussed what we know Christians should do in order to grow in their faith: study their Bibles, memorize Scriptures, pray and others; however, the challenge is put into practice what we know. Class members are encouraged and challenged to study the Bible, as well as memorize verses for their personal growth. The hope is that as we learn more about God and His Word, we'll become stronger in our faith and be able to share it with others.

At this age, sometimes any sermon seems "too hard or too boring," but it really is a matter of actually being able to follow and understanding what is being said. Having the background knowledge helps us understand as does discussing it with our peer group, so the Overcomers are studying the book of Mark, which is what Pastor Manduka is currently covering in his sermons. Every few weeks, we stay for the entire morning service to listen to the sermon and then discuss what we understood and learned in class the following week.

The Overcomers are also trying to build a strong "community" in the class since our Christian family should be our support during the ups and downs of being a kid or an adult. Usually our community building revolves around snacks and hanging out together. We try to plan activities after church on Sundays since we're all together to start. Visitors are always welcomed with a smile…and probably a snack!
