Statement of Faith

The Bible

We believe that the Bible, consisting of 66 books of the Old and New Testaments, was given by God’s inspiration and is the inerrant and infallible Word of God. It is the only perfect rule and final authority in all areas of human life and society.

God

We believe in one God, who exists eternally in three persons - Father, Son and Holy Spirit. God is the Creator, Preserver, and Ruler of the universe.
We believe in the eternally existing Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was incarnated as a human being without becoming less divine. Only He was able to die for the salvation of all men. He rose physically from the dead, ascended into heaven, where He is the only mediator of those who come to God. He will return to earth, personally and visibly to rule and judge and complete His saving work. We believe in the Holy Spirit, who was sent by the Father and the Son. He convicts people of sin and judgment. He enables people to repent, believe and be reborn. He comforts, instructs, indwells and fills believers for their lives in Christ.

People

We believe that human beings were made by a special act of God in His image - moral, creative, rational, personal. They were created perfectly to worship God and enjoy Him, each other and the creation. They fell from God's grace by a willful act of self-centered rebellion bringing death upon themselves, the whole human race and the creation. All are in need of God’s gracious redemption in Jesus Christ to restore us to the life He intends for us. We believe in a supernatural reality, from which the devil and his demons and the Holy Angels of God have an effect on the lives of people.

Salvation

We believe in salvation from sin and death only by God’s grace through faith in Jesus Christ. Salvation involves repentance, forgiveness, cleansing, justification, sanctification and glorification.

Baptism and Communion

We believe that the baptism of those believing in Christ, and the Lord’s supper, by which believers commemorate Christ’s death, are symbolic practices instituted by our Lord Jesus Christ.

The Church

We believe the Church is the fellowship of believers in Jesus, who is its only Head and Lord. All believers are members of the universal Church, which is the bride of Christ. The local and visible Church is a committed group of believers gathering for fellowship, teaching, service, prayer, preaching and evangelism.

The Future

We believe that Christ will return to the earth. The living and the dead (who will be raised bodily) will be judged by God. The rebellious will be condemned eternally. The redeemed will enter into eternal bliss in the presence of God.
